Overview
The Institute boasts of resident arts, performing, and literary groups that have achieved both national and international acclaim. It is base of one of the most dynamic groups of artists in the region and a leading center for Literature and Creative Writing, one of the three major creative writing centers in the country. Its artists have won major national awards and their works performed and exhibited in venues here and abroad.
- Echoes Band
- IPAG: Integrated Performing Arts Guild
- An integrated arts company acknowledged as a leading performing group in the country. Its productions have represented the Philippines in festivals in Singapore, the Netherlands, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, and Portugal. It has extensively performed all over the country.
- Kalimulan Cultural Dance Troupe
- It is the resident dance troupe, specializes in indigenous and folk dances from Mindanao. It performs to visiting guests and dignitaries its colorful repertoire. The troupe also performs in out-of-campus presentations.
- Mindanao Creative Writers Group
- It composes some of the country’s awarded and leading poets, fictionists, playwrights, and essayists. It conducts the summer National Writers Workshop, acknowledged as the most prestigious in the South.
- 8va: The Octava Choral Society
- It is a leading regional choral ensemble with a varied repertoire.
